The World's Finest Omega-3

Clary Sage the Purest and Safest Source of Omega 3

What Is Omega 3?

Omega 3 is a general term for a group of essential fatty acids. Although the body does not produce these fatty acids, they are essential for its proper functioning. These fatty acids have two sources: Vegetable source: sage oil, green leaves, and vegetable oils (ALA). Marine: deep-sea fish and seaweed (EPA, DHA).

Why Do I Need Omega 3?

It is well known that omega 3 fatty acid is one of the most important nutrients for a person’s health and wellbeing.  Omega 3 is in every cell of the body and is needed for each cell to function properly.  Each cell in the body needs omega 3 (anti-inflammatory) and omega 6 (inflammatory) for proper functioning. Omega 3 directly affects brain function, cardiovascular function, hormone balance, as well as hair, complexion and every physical system.  The body is unable to produce omega 3 and must get it from diet.  Omega 3 is found in a few types of food but our modern diets do not provide the substantial amount necessary for optimal function and health.

Over the past few decades we have seen a huge change in our diet to accommodate the fast paced lifestyle we keep. Where we were once able to get omega 3 from grass fed meat we rarely can now due to cattle primarily being fed corn (high in omega 6) rather than grass (high in omega 3).   With the huge increase in corn in our diet our bodies have become very unbalanced, overloaded with omega 6 and deficient of omega 3 causing inflammation resulting in numerous health issues and over 96,000 deaths in the U.S. a year.

Why Not Fish Oil?

Most people turn to fish oil to get their supply of omega 3.  The problem with this source is that you may also be consuming doses of deadly pollutants and heavy metals.  There are lawsuits in the courts right now against 4 major manufacturers of omega-3 for exceeding the government approved “safe-levels” of toxins.  These toxins not only put the consumer at risk, but they are also causing millions of square miles of the world’s oceans to become ‘dead zones.”  Some scientists even go so far as to tell us that we are exploiting the world’s oceans, and by the year 2048, many of the varieties of fish that we enjoy eating today will be virtually extinct.  What about fish from fish farms, you ask?  Fish have omega 3 because of their algae diet.  In fish farms corn is fed to the fish adding to the excess of omega 6 in the diet and removing those fish from being a source of omega 3.

Why Not Flax Seed Oil?

Flax seed oil has been a favorite plant-based source of omega-3.  Although the danger of pollutants is removed, flax has problems of its own; mainly that it is a highly unstable oil.  Laboratory tests demonstrate that the oil from flax seeds begins to oxidize immediately after the seed has been crushed.  It is negatively affected by temperature and light.  Even the body’s natural temperature continues to break down the flax oil as it passes through the digestive tract.  The end result is a less-than-satisfying omega-3 supplement.

So What Is The Solution?

In an effort to find a natural, stable, non-toxic source of omega 3 a team of Israeli scientists from the Israel Agriculture Research Organization began a search.  They discovered it in the native Clary Sage plant.  For centuries the Clary Sage plant has been used for medicinal purposes. Hippocrates said, "How can a man die if he has clary sage in his garden."  The oil is obtained by cold pressing the seeds of the clary sage plant producing a source of oil that is 50% omega 3 and 50% antioxidants making it a stable form of omega 3 with a 2 year shelf life.
